Where was lizzie when her father, andrew borden, was ruthlessly hacked to death around the time of 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM? Well, lets take a look...
According to Lizzie borden's testimony: she was In the barn looking for lead sinkers for a fishing trip the following monday. After inquiring about mail for her from her father at around 10:30 AM in the sitting room, she made her way to the barn. As she went to the barn, she had picked a few pairs, and planned to eat them in the loft of the barn. She stood at the street facing window for about 10-15 minutes eating her three pairs, then spent the next 5-10 minutes searching for lead sinkers in a box on the workbench.
During the investigation, there was reported no footprints inside of the barn on the dusty, dirty floor of which would have easily made an impression if something or someone were to have stepped on it. The loft of the barn was also extremely hot, so hot that it would be hard and uncomfortable to stay up there for 5 minutes, let alone 20.
In lizzie's inquest testimony, she also failed, three four times, to give an answer to the question pertaining to the size of the box she had spent her time looking through:
"Q. How large a box was it? A. I could not tell you. It was probably covered up---with lumber, I think. Q. Give me the best idea of the size of the box you can. A. Well, I should say I don't know. I have not any idea. Q. Give me the best idea you have. A. I have given you the best idea I have. Q. What is the best idea you have? A. About that large. (Measuring with her hands) Q. That long? A. Yes. Q. How wide? A. I don't know. " (linder).
In her inquest testimony answers prior to this, she had given clear and responsive answers to almost every question. So why is she so confused and unresponsive now?
